"Common Sense Isn't So Common"
The experiences of a Motor Officer
Just Passing Through
Welcome!
Welcome to Press Hard 3 Copies. These are my experiences in the Law Enforcement Profession. Right or wrong, good or bad, I really don't care what you think about them. For obvious reasons I won't be using my real name, nor the police department I work for. Lets just say I work in "South City". I hope to impart the attitude, point of view, and the humor that us Motor Officers really have, usually at the expense of the general motoring public who are our job security. I've never had the opportunity to thank them, so "Thank You!"
Enjoy!!
Disclaimer
This is MY story. I am not a saint nor was I ever. I will use language which fits my mood at the time of writing. Some of my posts will be funny, some controversial, and yes, some very opinionated. You may be offended, get over it and don't follow this blog any further. Just because I'm a cop doesn't mean I don't have constitutional rights and I'm damn well exercising my first amendment right! This blog is of my personal experiences and my personal opinions, and you know what they say about opinions....and just in case you haven't heard; "Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one and they usually stink." Any semblance of my experiences being about you personally is purely a coincidence as motor cops everywhere have the same percieved smart ass attitude, rudeness, arrogance, self righteousness, insensitivity, and stone faced coldness. If you've never been ticketed before, I look forward to meeting you.
Educator with a Phd from U of L (University of Life). I'm a motor officer with a NORCAL agency and love my job! I consider myself the luckiest man in the world because I'm living my childhood dream. I am also married to a wonderful woman who supports me in that dream.
While it may have been a look at the "darker side," I found your piece to be a refreshing look at what it was really like (the same things happened on the East Coast back in the 70's and 80's when I was on). Every once in a while, a look at the other side might help open some eyes as to what life is like outside the Beaver Cleaver world some folks live in. A couple of the medical blogs have run similar pieces recently, and you and they are to be commended.
I enjoyed "Old School" and wouldn't mind if it showed up Concord.

ReplyDeleteC'mon man, re-post it! Or email it to me, so I can read it. It sounds like it was good.
